Service Description

The Backdoor Youth Health Service is open at Unitt Street on Wednesdays 4.00pm-7.00pm. A youth friendly GP, a counsellor, or the Community Health Nurse(s) offer information, care and referral.

Common presenting issues are: contraception and emergency contraception, pregnancy test, sexually transmissible infections, and depression. Counselling support is available, as well as condoms, and needle and syringe packs.

Eligibility

Young people aged 12-25 years of Melton and Moorabool Shire.

Access hours

Wednesdays 4.00 pm – 7.00 pm

Mobile contact or during the week by arrangement.

Referral process

Self-referral, or by Health Professional, Welfare Teacher, case manager or by parents.
